she felt him slid his hands off her, and she let out another sigh. no, this was not good. averi didn't want anymore trouble from the girl, but she didn't really want to leave those arms either. her eyes were watching him and she noticed the small smile on his face. his fingers were on her legs. she returned the smile, sliding herself off. but she didn't move to the other side of the booth like she had planned. something had happened when she lost that contact between them, so she immediately sat down next to him in the both. alright beth, you've made your point. now run along. she said, with much more of an annoyed attitude than she wanted to. she didn't want him to think that she was thinking about their bodies touching and the fact that she wished this girl had not of interrupted. she knew that friends never did that in public, so why had she thought it was alright? he probably was mortified that she had taken advantage like that with him.
but she could feel her side against his, their legs touching. her skirt was hiked up still, so most of her thigh was showing, but at the moment, she was only concentrating on the electricity that was going through her body. was it just her? or did he feel something like this too? maybe it was just the friction or the desire of wanting more than played in with her mind. things were probably going to be a lot more complicated once the waitress left because she was actually going to have to deal with the situation at hand. but maybe he'd chalk it up to friends just having fun and leave it at that. then she wouldn't say a word, go about her day, and about their friendship like nothing exciting happened between them in the booth. her head was still spinning, watching the waitress as she glared at her to leave. fine. you know what. we'll leave. she said, come on roman. she added as she got up, grabbing her apron and jacket, sliding it on. averi didn't look back to see if he was following her, she just wanted to get away from the waitress. she finally made it outside, waiting for roman to appear. maybe she should make a run for it. wait for him to come out and make an excuse so they wouldn't have to talk about what she knew would already come. he just liked her as a friend.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] | [atrb=background,http://i54.tinypic.com/1twhdz.jpg] A frown ceased his lips when she pulled herself from his lap. There was an instant rush of chilled air over him, but it surprised him of how much his skin stayed heated. He side glanced at Averi then looked back at the waitress, Beth, apparently. He didn’t hear what Averi said to her or even if the waitress answered back, Roman was more concentrated on the tiny faction of space between their sides and how he could basically feel her leg right next to his. When she sat beside him and had her attention on the waitress, Roman was too caught up in his thoughts of the fire still spreading over his body to stop himself from lifting the arm nearest her and placing it on the booth behind her. And, as if on instinct, he brushed his fingered against her hair and softly curled a few strains around his finger tips. A grin played hidden at the corner of his lips.
She wasn’t leaving, after a moment of two of just having a stare off against two people; the waitress was still standing stead fast in her spot. She was a little too strong headed and it was annoying. It was like she was trying to be the perfect heroine and not the let the bad guys sway her. Rome didn’t like perfect. He raised an eyebrow at her, willing her to just go to a different table, but sadly she just glared back. He would have spoken but Averi beat him to it. Opening his mouth to protest when she got up and he lost all contact with her, he held his tongue and watched as she put her jacket back on. Which flashed his mind back to watching her take if off. “Uh, yeah. Let’s go.” His words were sudden because he snapped out of his admiring stare and memory of the girl. Pushing himself up from the booth, he noticed her already heading towards the door to leave. He took a step after her and kept his eyes on her, he never knew that he would enjoy watching her strut that much. But he felt an ice cold touch on his shoulder. Not hard to guess who that was.
But he turned his head to look at her anyways. “I thought she would never leave. Just think what you would do with a prettier girl in that booth.” It was shocking that she was still going to throw herself at him. She tried her luck at an inviting smile, but it just made Rome start to slowly walk backward toward the exit. He was careful to dodge other tables and people sitting. “I’m not going to make-out with you. Ever. Learn some respect. Besides, I’m not a whore.” Now at the door, his hand went behind his back and he grabbed the handle, a smirk being sent straight to her. “But it seems you are one.” Quickly leaving the restaurant before he could see or possible hear reaction, he turned around and stood next to Averi with his shoulder slightly brushing hers, reheating his skin. First of all, he usually wouldn’t call any girl a whore, but the waitress deserved it.
Secondly, he wanted so badly to know what happened next. His heart was still pumping and his skin felt super hot in the sun’s light. Looking at his friend, or whatever they were now, he smiled. Rome was feeling bold right now, so he reached a hand out and let his finger tips press to her stomach as his other hand brush some hair out of her face and he step in front and closer to her. Looking down at her, he tilted his head to the side and whispered just enough for her to hear. “What do you want to do now?” He didn’t want to let her leave him, but ultimately he was letting her be the one to decide.

it was taking him too long to get out. and she wondered if he really had planned to stay. maybe beth was working her wiles on him and he couldn't resist. she sighed to herself. of course the guy would go after someone besides her. she just wasn't in the cards for anyone. she chewed on her lip, and was about to walk off when roman came out of the restaurant. she stopped in her place as he stood next to her, their shoulders touching. looking over at him, she stopped chewing on her lip. took you long enough, had to give your number to the waitress? she didn't know if she was teasing or being serious, so she decided to just let him react to it the way that he wanted. he could take it however he wanted. she was acting cold for a reason. her guard was up. as much as she wanted to know what her thought about her kissing him and the contact between their skin, but she also didn't want to get rejected either, so she was usually the one to do the rejecting.
but he did something that she didn't expect and touched her on her stomach. her blue eyes wandered along his arm until they rested on his face. his other hand touched her face, brushing some of her hair away, which made her automatically close her eyes briefly. her eyes fluttered open when she felt him move closer, watching him. what was he doing? they were outside now, she hadn't tried to molest him. she hadn't forced herself on him. but he was reacting like they couldn't keep their hands off each other, and before then, she wouldn't have thought it was true until she bit her lip, smirking as he tilted his head and her hand flew up to his chest, resting her palm on him. what did she want to do? well as of right then she wanted to go to someplace more private, that was for sure. but what she wasn't sure about was if he'd be willing to do the same. they did need to do something or she was probably going to molest him again in the street.
her palm slid up his chest to his shoulder, her facial expression never changing. um, well... we could go someplace more private or we could call it a day. i'm not really sure what else to do. so she gave him options. she wanted him to choose what he wanted because she wasn't going to force herself on him anymore than he wanted to force himself on her. so she gave him two options she could live with.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] | [atrb=background,http://i54.tinypic.com/1twhdz.jpg] He had to admit he was shocked by her cold call of him taking long and giving the waitress his number. It kind of hurt that she thought he would just go and blow her off and hang out with the waitress. He had defended Averi from her and he wouldn’t turn his back on someone he protected. The expression on his face falter from a smile and he looked shocked but shook his slight frown away before he continued.
It had been a chance move, and he wasn’t sure how she would react to it. Though when he saw her close her eyes he felt relieved that she didn’t back away for his touch. His hand on her stomach, pressed it’s full palm to the fabric of her dress, spreading his fingers out to cover it more. Roman’s brown eyes brightened when her hand was pressed to his chest, his heart rate picked up and he drew his gaze to look at her lips. He teased himself with the idea of just leaning forward and capturing her lips with his again, he held still and just looked at her. Feeling her hand slid up over his muscles made a small shiver run up his spine and he took a small half step forward as she rested her hand on his shoulder. His eye brows raised when she spoke. She was going to make it his choice. Roman, let his gaze roam over her as he tossed the question around in his mind. Private or just leave it with what happened in the booth. He really wasn’t the best person to be answering that. There was what he wanted to do and what he thought he should actually do. And right now, they were battling.
Rome wanted more, that was proved by not really being able to keep his hands off. But he didn’t want to really deal with the questions that followed what they both probably had in mind. Things were complicated now and they were still friends. If he suggested going to a private place, that might only make things more complex. He wanted to make her happy, it was like that all he existed for and really he didn’t care. But he had felt things like that before; well at least he thought he had when he was with in relationships with his now exs. Love, though right now it was mixed with lust and he couldn’t make out that feeling for sure. He wasn’t going to risk it by becoming a friend with benefits. Closing his eyes and sighing, Roman leaned forward and rested his forehead against hers.
“I think we had enough fun, for today at least.” Opening his eyes, he looked down at Averi with a smile. He had enjoyed every second while sitting in that booth and he was enjoying the time just standing out here with her. He let his brown eyes scan her face for anything, any happiness for not letting this continue or any sadness. “But, if you’ll let me, I would like to ask you for a rain-check. You know so that maybe we can get together in a private place some other time?” Leaning back away from her, he had a curious and waiting smile on his lips. His hand was still on her stomach, wanting the contact between them still and not wanting to push her away. Rome hoped that she would agree to at least try it again.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: #423c42;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] averi liked the touch of him, liked that feel of his hands on her. in fact, she craved it like a rabid person. but she controlled herself, seeing as she knew they were in public and roman wouldn't look too kindly for their first time to be in a dark alley way somewhere, pushed up against a dumpster or a brick wall while she got want she wanted out of him. she figured he wanted more of a normal approach, with maybe a bed and a dimply lighted room. she pegged him to be a romantic, which she didn't think she was capable of, ever. and then it went back to, did he really want it to go that far, because she did. and though, the consequences of those actions were in the back of her mind, having her feel him against her, not to just feel his muscular chest but to see it on top of her, sent chills throughout her whole body. it also made her hot.
up until today, she had not felt anything more powerful than the electricity that was circulating between them. she concentrated on his hand against her stomach, how aching was growing harder and harder to control with him so close to her. averi saw him look at her lips. he wanted to kiss her just as much as she wanted him to. but she wondered exactly why he wasn't doing it. maybe he was scared, maybe he wanted her to go through with it first. she felt him take a small step toward her, a good sign that he wasn't ready for what started in the booth to be over quite yet either. averi had no problem in deciding what she wanted to do. the problem would be where she wanted to do it. in fact she had contemplated taking roman's hand and pushing her way back to that booth and having him right there while the waitress watched. would have served her right, but she didn't because it seemed a little far fetched. antares might have done that, but not roman. but she would settle for anywhere at the moment. as long as those hands stayed on her.
what she wasn't excepting was his response to her question. she had been sure he wanted more, just look at his body language. he had been the one to pursue her this time. he had been the one to step towards her, putting his hands on her. when she saw him close his eye and sigh, and leaning his forehead against hers, she knew it wasn't going to be good. when he opened his mouth, averi felt her heart drop and her stomach turn into knots. she had tried not to get herself into this position with anyone, and look what she had done in the matter of one day. fucked that all up. her smirk was gone. her face emotionless. she was shutting down. this was her defense mechanism. it was by default, whenever she felt threaten that things were going to hurt her. she barely heard him ask about a rain check. no the fuck he didn't. at that moment, she pulled away from him. a good two feet.
if he didn't want her now, he wasn't ever going to get her. and that was just how averi felt about the situation. regardless if he was her best friend or not, it wasn't about when he felt right about having sex with her. it wasn't just about him and his needs. sure he was smiling at her, but he didn't realize that he had went about this all wrong. that he had essentially rejected her and made some lame excuse about it. if asking for a rain check wasn't a blow off, then averi didn't know what else it could be. there wouldn't be another try, wouldn't be a do-over. this was it and he had told her in no-uncertain-terms that he didn't want her until it was on his time. hell to the fucking no. averi didn't work that way. he may have told his girlfriends that, maybe even a one or two flings but you don't say that to a girl that you know already mistrusts guys.
roman would have never guessed that she was pissed or upset because she didn't allow any of those emotions on her face. in fact, her expressions were quite blank, which was probably even scarier. no, its fine. i have things to do anyways. see you around. without another word, she turned, walking in the opposite direction in which he was standing. she didn't even give him time to respond, she just walks away. no tears streamed her face like in the movies, no sad music was playing, because this was real life and people just don't do that. just like he wouldn't run up to her, pull her close and kiss her like they had both wanted before his gruesome rejection. they wouldn't live happily ever after because averi never got a happily ever after and she didn't think she'd ever get one. because all guys used girls, even roman, to a certain extent. and sure, averi would admit to using guys, but that's because she didn't trust them enough not to use them. use them and throw them away. it was always her motto.
that was it at least until she had kissed roman.
